In 2012, I came to this resort for the first time for my bachelorette trip. I could not have imagined a more exquisite place. My maid of honor telephoned her mother when we arrived to let her know she’d died and gone to heaven. Our three nights were too short, and so last month, when my mom were in Turks and Caicos (unfortunately staying at another resort!) my mom and I returned for dinner and an afternoon.
For my bachelorette, we stayed in a four bedroom Tranquility Villa overlooking reflection ponds and gardens. This is the view from our bedroom to the living villa. One of my favorite details of the villa was each bedroom offers an outdoor showers.
Each villa has an extensive living and dining area, a kitchen, and an outdoor dining sala. Each villa is serviced by personal cooks and housekeepers. My favorite night at the villa was when we enjoyed a special bachelorette dinner for us!
Villas are serviced by personal cooks and housekeepers who cater to guests’ every need. The eight of us enjoyed driving around two four-seater golf buggies.
The Beach Club, located on a dune over the southern end of the sweeping 2,625-foot white-sand beach, provides a casual dining venue throughout the day and most evenings when in season. My mom and I sat on the lower terrace and the chef completely outdid himself. The simple menu likewise combines Asian and Mediterranean flavors with casual beach fare–items like pizza, tuna ceviche, and lobster and pomelo salad.
However, my mom and I couldn’t get over dessert–deconstructed cheese cake and vanilla ice cream lollipop.
Amanyara is located on island of Providenciales, 575 miles southeast of Miami and 100 miles north of the Dominican Republic. Several airlines offer direct flights to Providenciales from New York, London, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Boston.
Removed from the development on the eastern side of the island, Amanyara is located on the coast of Northwest Point, adjacent to Malcolm’s Beach and Northwest Point Marine National Park, a protected area of 4,168 acres. When you walk on the beach, you are literally, the only person in sight.
If I go again, I will likely stay in one of the 36 timber-shingled guest pavilions. The 2 two-bedroom pool pavilion suites are ideal with families–a smaller room for children, a large living/dining room and a private fitness room with cardio and weight equipment.
As we were getting ready to leave, the resort was getting preparing to screen the Academy Awards in its Screening Room. During my other stay, I didn’t even realize we could rent out the space, order food and beverages and watch what we chose! I could live here forever…
